18 weeks down, 22 weeks to go

This is the only recent picture I could find of myself. See my little baby pouch under my arm?

Yay! I'm almost halfway there! I can't believe it's gone by so fast, yet at the same time I can't believe there is twice this much left. I get more excited every day. Now that I am almost all the way out of the nausea-phase, I've been feeling a lot more energetic and happy. I honestly had a hard time being excited about this pregnancy at first because I was so sick and tired and didn't know how I would do it with a toddler and a newborn. But now I feel a lot better and I'm not nervous about having another one.

I think back to when I was 18 weeks pregnant with Peter and I always felt so scared about what pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood was going to be like. I was always afraid that I was going to mess something up or do something unintentionally to harm my child (like accidentally eat too much Tuna fish! oh no!) But now that I've had one (sorry Peter, you're the guinea pig child) I feel much more confident about this whole thing. Plus my good friend Miriam gave me loads of reassurance when she reminded me that newborns sleep a ton and don't need to be constantly entertained. I used to have day-mares that if I had two children, it would be like two toddlers running around and I would go crazy. Luckily babies come much smaller and quieter. But not cuter!

  1. Don't worry, the adjustment to 2 is so easy. The hardest part for me was when we had to go places. Remembering to get everything ready and baby fed before we headed took awhile to get used to again. Its almost easier than one though because the older child can entertain the baby while you do stuff, and its great when they get bigger. Parker and KC have tons of fun together, when they aren't fighting lol.
