So, you know how I told you about that Triathlon I did a week ago? Well, I didn't do it alone - Peter did it too! I hadn't written about him doing it yet because I needed to figure out how to get the pictures to upload first. But now you can see what a cute little Triathlete he is for yourself! I tried to help him "train" for it a couple times, but he just didn't get it. So we dragged him out of bed at 6:30 AM the day of the race and told him, "You get to go swimming! then you get to bike around the park! then comes running around the park! Woo hoo!" But he was less than enthusiastic, "Mommy, I'll get out of bed when the sun comes up."
When we got to the park, they wrote our race numbers on our arms and legs and we got our stuff all set up. The children's race started first, so I helped Peter swim across the pool, and then off he went on his bike. He was probably the smallest kid there, but I think he finally got it after a while that he was supposed to follow the other kids and try to go fast. I'm pretty sure he was the last one to finish, but he was excited about it! They gave him a green "Participant" ribbon which he wore tied around his wrist for the whole day.
Seeing him feel proud of himself and having fun was the best part of the race. Hopefully he'll want to do more Triathlons with me in the future!
