I kidnapped Sean (or should I say "man-napped"?) from work one morning. First, we went on a drive around the Alpine Loop. The fall colors were still there, but fading quickly, so I am really glad we got up there before they were completely gone. The day was golden: warm sunshine reflecting off the quaking aspen leaves. There really was a golden hue to everything as we drove through the forest. Oh, I love being up there. Those familiar pathways and valleys always makes me happy.

On the way down, we stopped at Timp Cave for a hike and tour. Little did I know it would take about 3 hours, but it was still really nice to be outside and to be active. Sean carried Peter up and back in our hiking carrier, and we all laughed and sang songs. Once we got to the cave we let Peter walk around and he had a grand old time until he got very wet, dirty, and cold.

At this point we were about half way through the cave with a large tour group and I'm sure everyone with us was trying extra hard to smile and be nice to us and our screaming baby. Poor them! Note to self: never take a toddler who is two hours late for his nap on a cave tour.

Once we got out, all was well again and Peter quickly fell asleep to the rhythm of Sean's footsteps. Ahhh..... peace. We wispered all the way down and then I made Sean buy me a cheeseburger :) It was a great day off. I'll have to man-nap Sean more often!
Sounds like a wonderful day :)
