Elise Roberts tagged me forever ago, and I decided to actually do it although it might take me all night to think of what to write! This is how it works:
A ~ Each person has to list 6 facts/habits about them.
B ~ After part A, go to 6 people's blogs and leave a comment letting them know to read your blog, and that they have been tagged. List at the end of your posting who you have tagged.
So, here I go.
1.) Good Habit: I have to have at least one nap every day. If I don't get my nap in when Peter is napping, then the rest of my day is pretty much shot. I LOVE sleeping (especially now that I have a baby) and I think that I have just trained myself to need a nap. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I guess it depends on how busy I am... Unfortunately I get kind of grumpy if I don't get my nap, so I wish I could train myself out of needing one.
2.) Bad Habit: I am always starting to read a book, but I rarely finish it. And I usually have 3-4 books that I am reading at once. If the book doesn't totally capture my attention, then I figure I won't waste my time. Books that I actually have finished include but are not limited to: Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Peace like a River, Pregnancy: a week by week guide, My Antonia, I don't remember the rest right now... If you want to recommend a great book, please do!
3.) Fact: I hate flossing!!!!!! I know everyone hates flossing, but at least they still do it, right? I have this permanent retainer on my bottom teeth, so it makes flossing even less desirable. Therefore I just never do it. OK - maybe tri-annually? I think I have a strong aversion to flossing because I have had some kind of dental appliance stuck in my mouth since the age of about 7, so it's always been a major chore. Also, a random fact associated with teeth: my two front teeth are made of porcelain (bike accident when I was 9).
4.) Fact: I never knew that my life would revolve so much around when my baby takes naps! He takes 2 naps per day that are usually about 2 hours long. So, that means I have 4 hours per day so when I try to get as many things done as I can (after I take my own nap, of course). It's like a mad-dash to read my scriptures, eat breakfast, get ready for the day, tidy the house, water the garden, feed the cat, check email, and anything else I can do before he wakes up. Once he's up, then we usually go someplace (shopping, hiking, visiting, etc.) but we have to make absolute sure that we are back in time for his second nap, or else he'll get pretty upset. How do people with more than one child get anything done? Do you have to coordinate their naps? Please enlighten me.
5.) Bad habit and Good habit: baking and exercising. I think they make a pretty good combination actually! Exercising makes me hungry, and eating too many cookies makes me want to exercise! My favorite things to bake are: chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and gingersnaps. My favorite exercises are: kickboxing, yoga, and biking. If you ever see me biking around while eating brownies, you'll know I am having a very happy moment!
6.) Good habit: going to bed before 11. As you have probably noticed from this post, sleep is one of my favorite things. So, I'm off to bed! I'm going to tag Mary Francis, Amy Parker, Alyse Swensen, Stephanie Chappell, Traci Brown, Kari Bryan and everyone in my family who reads this.
I still wish I could get a nap in. I get pretty grumpy without one too, and if my kids don't get one it gets really ugly around here at night. Parker thinks he doesn't need one anymore, so if I try then he wrecks havoc while I'm sleeping, so there goes that. Wh well, I'm holding out till they're both is school, then I'll sleep.
ReplyDeleteyou do sleep a lot! and when i think about it, i guess i'm not too shocked. you have always been a great appreciator of sleep!
