Olive is our cat. She is anti-social, kind of grumpy, easily startled, and beautiful. We really like her because she makes us laugh, but not because she is snuggly. The only time she gets remotely snuggly is when I am laying on the couch reading. She will jump on my stomach and plop right down on the pages of the book so I will pet her and not read. After a couple minutes she gets tired of snuggling and she will usually bite or scratch before she saunters off.
She looks like she is wearing a little furry tuxedo with white gloves and white boots. We adopted her after my friend Miram found her in the gutter with ice frozen on her fur at 4 weeks old. Sad! Miriam called me and said she had a surprise waiting at her house. Of course I couldn't resist taking this little fuzzy kitten home with me! At first we thought she was a boy and we named her Geronimo. When we realized she wasn't a boy we had to come up with a new name. It was pretty easy since she was little, round and black like an olive. We used to be able to hold her in the palm of one hand and she would squeak out a meow. She was so adorable!
Now she is very beautiful and sleek. She likes to sleep between my ankles at night and walk on my head in the morning when she wants her breakfast. Her favorite things are chasing reflections of light across the ceiling and walls, pawing at the rag as it goes back and forth when I wipe off the counter top, chattering at birds who sit in branches outside our window, and perching outside the baby's room to listen when I sing him to sleep. We love our cat.
Lucky Olive! Can she do any tricks? You were her rescuing angels.
ReplyDeleteand. . . I LOVE your music video!!
ReplyDeleteshe is such a pretty cat. it's a shame about the snuggliness, and yet not. when an animal is starved for my attention, i feel guilty and irritated. i don't have time to sit around all day and snuggle (wish i did, sounds nice)!
